Five Years euroPLX Trainee Programme
Dielheim/Heidelberg (Germany) 22 March 2010. The lack of formal training opportunities for junior managers in business development and licensing was the reason why a number of seasoned BD&L executives proposed to RauCon to establish a trainee programme which would allow junior managers to attend euroPLX Meetings at a substantially reduced registration fee, accompanied by a regular attendee of the same company who would guide the trainee through jointly attended appointments.
This was five years ago, when RauCon introduced the euroPLX Trainee Programme.
The situation has not changed much in the meantime. The courses in business development and licensing offered by various national Pharma Licensing Groups as well as by professional seminar organisers have only improved the theoretical side but haven't helped aspirants to gain practical experience. In Europe, the euroPLX Trainee Programme is still the only opportunity for would-be business development and licensing managers to receive practical partnering training on the job, effectively supporting companies in their in-house training efforts.
Since then, each euroPLX Meeting has seen 10 to 12 registered trainees and the programme is still in high demand.
For purposes of definition, a trainee is an employee who
- is currently being trained in BD&L
- has never attended a euroPLX Meeting before
- is accompanied by a regular attendee.
A company can register only one trainee at a particular euroPLX Meeting. A trainee does not receive any conference documents, but can enjoy all meals and beverages just like a regular registrant.
